Train-Bus Accident: 19 Passengers Are Still on Admission, Abayomi

Nineteen of the 96 passengers of the Lagos train-bus accident with various degrees of injuries are still on hospital admission, says Professor Akin Abayomi,

Commissioner for Health, Professor Abayomi disclosed in his weekly update in Lagos.

He said, 16 of the affected passengers are at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, two are recuperating at the General Hospital, Odan- Lagos while a victim is on admission at the General Hospital, Gbagada.

Professor Abayomi said, “77 persons affected in the train-bus accident that were rescued and treated are now discharged from hospitals”.

The train-bus accident occurred on Thursday March 9 and affected a total of 102 persons out of which six persons lost their lives.

The 44-year old Olúwaṣeun Osinbajo who drove the ill-fated staff bus is currently in the custody of State Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Department.

Osinbajo reportedly blamed the accident on mechanical fault on the vehicle.
