Ogun State is now ready for the weeklong integrated measles vaccination of all children between nine months and five years old.
The State Primary Healthcare Development Board (OGPHECADEB) in announcing the exercise is urging parents to ensure all children in the age category are vaccinated.
According to the statement signed by Director, Disease Control and Immunisation, Dr. Thomas Solarin, the integrated measles vaccination campaign is targeting children 9 to 59 months of age.

He explains that the weeklong measles vaccination campaign commences on Saturday October 5 to Friday, October 11, 2024.
The campaign will run simultaneously across the 20 local government areas of the state at designated facilities, states Solarin
Solarin also noted that the measles vaccination exercise will involve “the use of Government Health facilities, Temporary Fixed Posts such as schools, (public and private), churches, mosques, markets, and hard-to-reach communities.
The Director emphasises, “This campaign is NOT HOUSE-TO-HOUSE, therefore health workers will be at various designated places listed across the state to vaccinate eligible children with measles vaccine. The vaccine is safe, effective and free of charge”, Solarin added.
He urged all parents and stakeholders to support the measles vaccination campaign through awareness creation at all levels as well as accord the health workers on the field all the needed support.
